Double Action Roulette

Double Action Roulette is one of the popular variations of the game of roulette. It is a creation of the roulette manufacturer TCSJOHNHUXLEY who offers it in several styles. In several casinos around the UK and the US, the game is available in different variants inlcuding MKVII, Gemini, and Saturn.
The roulette wheel presents two winning numbers for every spin. On the roulette wheel are two sets of numbers; some on the outer ring and others on the inner ring. These two sets appear on opposing order on the roulette wheel. Each set rotates in the opposite direction so that when the ball settles, two numbers win.

What Makes Double Action Roulette?

The betting layout of double action roulette makes it standout. It has two sets of numbers, with each set having 37 segments. There are numbers one through 36 alternating in red and black and the zero is green in color. The low/high numbers also alternate on the wheels to keep the wheel balanced.

The two identical betting rings accommodate two bets; bets placed on inner ring and those on outer ring of numbers. Each betting area has a 6×6 grid of numbers, which is different from the 3×12 grid in the traditional roulette. As a player, you can place a bet on the layout’s outer ring, inner ring, or both rings.

The outer ring is near the wheel, while the inner ring is located far from the wheel. Another thing that stands out is that the wheel is to the far left of the betting table, while the betting layout sits to the right side of the screen.

Unlike the traditional roulette table, which has twelve rows each with three numbers, the double action roulette has six rows of numbers each with three numbers. To the left of the grid is the zero, which is green in color. Further, the table has a racetrack betting section for call bets, such as Voisins du Zero and Orphelins. This racetrack option sits just above the inner and the outer betting layouts on the betting table.

You can place a bet on individual roulette numbers either on the outer ring, the inner ring, or on both at the same time. If you need a higher payout, you can try your luck with the outside bets. Players can go for the single zero or the double zero variant of the game.

Double Action Roulette Gameplay

The rules of double action roulette are the same as those of traditional roulette. Some variants sport light on the tables illuminating the winning bet after every spin. The player can make inside bets and outside bets on a single number on the table or make combination bets. The inside bets have the same odds as bets on traditional roulette.

If a player places outside bets, the payouts are not even on high/low, odd/even, and red/black bets. For players to fetch a good payout, they need to win on bets on both layouts of the roulette wheel. The odds of winning both rings are much lower, making outside bets an option for bettors looking for a high-risk high-payout bet.

For instance, if you make an outside bet say on black, you only win if the ball lands on the back pocket on both the layouts of the roulette table. The payout, in this case, will be three to one and the house advantage is at 5.33%. This same scenario applies for high/low and odd/even bets too. A player who wants outside bets has to bet on both layouts simultaneously.

For inside bets, a player chooses if they want to bet on one ring or two rings on the roulette wheel. Because of the two wheels involved in gameplay, players will see lower odds when playing double action roulette. However, the payouts climb as the odds dwindle. A player who takes the risk can earn up to 1,200 times the amount of money they bet.

If you do not want to take the high-risk high-payout route, you should bet on only one ring – this kind of better offers better odds. Players can place their bets when the ball starts rolling. However, when the croupier says no more bets, the player stops placing more bets and winning numbers light up on both the rings. The lights ensure there are no doubts on which pockets the ball lands. There are some table variations where players can track previous winning numbers.

After the winning numbers light up, the croupier will mark them and then move bets to the wheel’s rim. Players online will find the game simplified as all they need to do is select the denomination of chips shown below the gaming screen. Click the value you want and then hover your mouse on the table layout so that each type of bet is illuminated. To place a bet, players only need to click on the betting box of the bet they prefer. After that, the next step is spinning the wheels.

The wheels spin and the ball rests on two numbers. If the ball rests on the numbers a player bet on, they win and their money is deposited into their account. If the player loses, the amount they placed for the bet will be detected from their account balance. There is a Rebet X2 button that allows you to double your bet for the same numbers and then spin the wheel. This is for players who apply the Martingale strategy.

Types of Bets to Place on double Action Roulette

Players can place bets on outer ring, the inner ring, or on the two rings at the same time. Here are the bet options for the single-zero double action roulette variant.

Single Ring Bets

These are bets placed on individual numbers. Some of the bets on this category include:
• Straight Up Bets are bets on a single number on the table on individual numbers with a payout of 35 to 1
• Split bets placed on two numbers next to each other with a payout of 17 to 1
• Corner or Square bets where you bet on four numbers and get a payout of 8 to 1
• Street bets, which consist of six successive numbers with a payout of 5 to 1
• Bets placed on seven consecutive numbers from 0 to 6 with a payout of 4 to 1
• Line bets that cover 12 numbers and pay out 2 to 1

Double Ring Bets

Two black numbers or two red numbers give a payout of 3 to 1
• Two even numbers or two odd numbers with a payout of 3 to 1
• Bets on any two low numbers (1 through 18) or bets on any two high numbers (19 through 36) will pay out 3 to 1
• Bets on the first, second, or the third dozen of numbers with a payout of 8 to 1
• Bets on two number columns pay out 8 to 1
• Double layout Straight-Up bets placed on individual numbers with a payout of 1,200 to 1
Double-ring bets offer higher payouts. This is one of the reasons roulette attracts great attention from casino enthusiasts. The payoffs are great, but the odds will be lower for double-ring bets. If you make single-ring bets, you will have better odds, but your payouts will not be as high as 1,200 to 1.

Payouts and Odds for the Single Ring and Double Ring Bets

The payouts you get from double action roulette will depend on the bets you place and whether you bet on one or two rings. If you decide to bet on one of the rings, you have a better chance at winning, but you get a lower payout.
Straight Up single ring bets with odds of 0.027, and they pay 35 to 1. Split bets are placed on two numbers whose players have a better chance of winning. The probability for these bets is 0.054 and a payout of 17 to 1.
If you bet on three numbers, your odds increase to 0.081, but the payout reduces to 11 to 1. Betting on four numbers will give you a payout of 8 to 1 and higher odds of 0.108. Six numbers have an odd of 0.162 and a payout of 5 to 1, while seven numbers have an odd of 0.189 and a payout of 4 to 1. Players that wager on 12 numbers will enjoy odds of 0.324, but the payout reduces to 2 to 1.
When making double-ring bets, the probability of winning when one bet on two odd numbers, two even numbers, two black numbers, two red numbers, or two low or two high numbers is 0.236. The payout in this case is 3 to 1. If a player places a bet on the first, second, or third dozen of numbers, the winning probability is 0.105 and the payout is 8 to 1.
If you pick two individual numbers on double-ring bets, the payout is 1,200 to 1, but the probability of winning is 0.000730.
